Race Rules light:

1. Fairness and good sportsmanship shall prevail.

2.  Abuse of dogs, with or without implement, shall be prohibited. If a driver or his handler abuses a dog, that driver shall be disqualified. 

3.  Any communication from the race marshal, race judges, race veterinarian and the organization / staff to a driver shall be strictly adhered too. 

4. The minimum starting age of all dogs shall be at least
18 months and must be chipped for identification.
 

5.  No person is allowed to perform any medical treatment to the dogs without authorization by the chief race veterinarian. Otherwise, the ESDRA Doping rules shall apply. 

6.   Classes:
8-dog class – dog pool 1
2 dogs
6-dog class – dog pool
8 dogs
skijöring with 2 dogs - dog pool 3 dogs
no minimum limit number of dogs 
in all classes

7. Passing rule:
When a team is being passed, the overtaken team shall considerable slow down, if possible with the braking pad and not with the claw brake.
If the overtaking musher requests “TRAIL” or “STOP”, the overtaken team must stop – if at all possible with the braking pad.
Composure and sportman like manner is expected from both sides throughout the competition. (see rule no. 1).

8. Helmet
is mandatory for every driver during the race. It is mandatory that all drivers shall attend all musher meetings, bib number distribution as well as any other meeting officially announced.

9. Equipment:
Sled shall be equipped with a braking pad and sledsack.
In the sack there shall be space for 2 dogs along with the complusory gear.
Loading area and sledsack shall be at least 1 meter long (to the brushbow is possible).The braking pad shall be reachable with both heels from the runners (approx. 20 cm x 30 cm) in addition shall be equipped with good functional flap mechanism. Chain or chain brakes for the sled or chain crossed around the braking pad. Helmet, 4 booties per dog, flashlight (headlamp) and tie (leash) chain with carabiner on both sides of sled.

10. Injured or loaded dogs shall be transported in the sledsack.

11. Liability insurance is compulsory. All dogs must be vaccinated (vaccination pass) and chipped for identification.

he race marshal may take a team out of the competition if two consecutive stages are not within 160% of the average time of the first 3  teams of every race class.
